It takes longer to get to Charlie's room than it should because Charlie keeps pushing Bartleby against walls and pulling him down--by the shirt, by the neck--to kiss him again.

Finally he lets them into his room, pulling Bartleby in behind him and laughing at the way Bartleby is kissing him, when Mister's startled mew jars Charlie out of the moment. "Oh--er--Bartleby, you know Bob--let me just--um, Bob?" He scoops up the cat. "Let's get you back to the bar, yeah?"

He kisses Bartleby quickly and runs down the stairs.

"Yeah. The night, if that's okay? And it wasn't just you - was talking to Lochiel for a long while, and trying to learn runes from him." He snuggles into the duvet.

"Of course the night's okay." He wraps his arm around Bartleby's neck and kisses his hair. "So is tomorrow and the day after and the day after that."

He Is Not Jealous Of Lochiel.

"Mmmm. Good. I'm worried about that guy - Lochiel, I mean." Bartleby tries to never be nasty to Charlie, so you have to believe that he simply hasn't picked up on the Non-Jealousy.

"Hmm." Neutral. He occupies himself with playing with Bartleby's ears instead.

"He's stuck as a girl." Bartleby does sound concerned. "He's stressed about it." He taps his head. "I can feel him."

He giggles and shivers when Charlie hits a sensitive spot.

"Very rough," Charlie says with some sympathy around Bartleby'e earlobe.

"You should meet him. You'd like him." Bartleby shivers again. "And stop that. I'm tired." He doesn't sound annoyed.

Charlie sighs and leans his head against Bartleby's. He starts to speak but stops himself, and just strokes his fingertips along Bartleby's neck.

"Love me?" he says at last.

"Yes." There is no need to expand.

"Just checking." He kisses Bartleby's hair. "Love you too. And, angel--if you go before I wake up, will you wake me up anyway?"

"Yeah. Promise." He nestles closer against Charlie and closes his eyes.

"Thanks," Charlie murmurs. His fingers drift for a moment over fine, warm skin, and then he hugs Bartleby to him and shuts his eyes.
