The suite is still a suite, though Charlie's been thinking about converting it back to a single room. But maybe he'll want a roommate . . .

Or have a room available for Seth while Charlie entertains elsewhere.

He hsuts the door behind Claire and smiles at her as he puts his guitar away. "Is he sleepy?"

She is, fortunately, just as close and a few seconds later she follows him off that treacherous cliff. Her hand shoots out to brace herself against his chest as she arches back, her mouth open on a gasp, her thighs hugging his hips tightly.

His hand is still supporting one hip. "That's my girl," he whispers to her, "that's my beautiful girl."

He strokes her hair.

She tucks her head against his neck, letting him pet her until her breathing becomes less ragged and harsh. And even then she is reluctant to move away from him, or off of him, or in any way that will not feel as good as this does right now.

Eventually though, she pulls back, smiling as she searches his face. And she laughs. And kisses him again.

He's smiling too as she studies him, smiling as she kisses him with laughter in her mouth. He wraps his arms around her, anchoring her firmly against him.

In some way or another-- against him or beside him, it doesn't matter which-- it's where she's meant to be.

"Charlie," she whispers, and shifts so that she's no longer curled up in his lap but stretched out on top of him. She toys with one of his necklaces.

"We finally did it."

He tickles her lips with a lock of her hair. "Worth the wait, too."

She laughs and bats the hair away, grabbing his hand instead and tangling her fingers with his.

"Worth the wait, yes, and so much better than it would have been on the island."

"There are good things about beds," he agrees, beaming. He kisses the back of her hand.

She sighs and snuggles closer to him.

After a long silence she whispers softly, "Thank you, Charlie. For letting me be just a girl, for awhile."

He kisses the top of her head and rubs her back. "Thank you for letting me be just a boy," he says quietly.

She can't think of the words that would explan how she feels, so instead she simply laughs again and nudges his leg with her foot.

"'m not asleep." He nudges her with his knee. "Don't tell me you want another go, woman."

"Maybe," she teases. "But you can rest for awhile if you want."

It's not an altogether bad idea to her either, really.

"That's very gracious of you." He stretches and yawns. "Wouldn't hurt to get some water, either."

In a minute. He doesn't want to move quite yet.

"Water would be nice," she nods as her hand slips around his waist, hugging him.

"Garcon?" He looks around. "Blast. The service here is terrible."

She giggles. "I'd get up but I don't think I can feel my legs, still."

"Oh dear, poor little legs," he coos and rubs the bottom of his foot up her calf.

". . . Are you calling me short?"

"You're pocket-sized." He kisses the top of her head again. "We fit perfectly."

"We are pretty wee," she agrees, and ignores the emotion she feels at the second thing he said.

"I don't suppose I really need the water," she muses, squeezing him affectionately.

Charlie hums "I will bring you water" and kisses her some more.

Mm, she likes kissing. And she likes kissing him, especially.


"Careful," she warns eventually. "Or we might not be getting so much rest after all."

"Sleep is for the weak," he murmurs, kissing her neck.

She tilts her head to give him better access and her hand creeps down to his hip, and then lower, her touch gentler than it was earlier.

"Well, that's probably true," she murmurs.
