Clothing appears in silvery piles on the bedroom floor and there's the soft sound of laughter. Pasta can wait.

"Bed's that way," says Charlie from nowhere.

"Thank you." Charlie sits up and takes a bowl. He inhales, his eyes closed. "Mmm."

He chuckles faintly before working on his own meal, taking the time to savor at first before giving into his hunger.

"I just love how you cook for me, baby." He looks at Darien through his eyelashes.

And he smiles right back, wrapping his legs around Charlie's.

"Mmm..love how you sing for me."

Charlie leans over to kiss him and softly sings, "'If I fell in love with you would you promise to be true, and help me understand . . .'" He kisses Darien again.

And he deepens the kiss a little.

"Promise you anything you want, baby."

Charlie smiles as they kiss, holding Darien's face. "Just promise me you'll be around for a while?"

"Long as you want me, I'll be around."

Another kiss, this one slower.

He nods and buries his head in the crook of Darien's neck a moment.

And Darien runs his hand down the back of Charlie's head, down his neck, and holds him tight.

Charlie straightens up and smiles at him--maybe a little uncomfortably, because Happy Charlie is not supposed to have moments of insecurity--and reaches for a bowl of pasta. "Eat. You need your strength."

He taps the bowl.

"That's yours, babe. I had mine."

Charlie sticks his tongue out at him and eats a large mouthful of pasta rather messily.

And gets a sloppy kiss with a bit of marinara sause for his trouble.

Would it be corny to confess that's what he was hoping for?
